Also known as a larch, the tamarack is native to the bogs of northern Minnesota. This tree has soft needles and becomes the talk of the neighborhood when it turns an eye-popping yellow in the fall. This is a deciduous evergreen meaning it sheds its needles in the fall. The tamarack is truly an interesting species and unique addition to any yard! This tree is a favorite for deer, it is recommended to put up chicken wire or other protection in the fall winter.
